Selection and constraints acting on the evolution of convergent skeletons in frogs
I am scanning the skeletons of frogs and toads all over the world (and all over the phylogenetic tree) to compare morphological differences in association with shifts in natural history, body size, and development to determine what drives diversification and limits morphological evolution.
More to come soon!
Here are some preliminary results of changes in anuran limb shape associated with microhabitat. Clearly where/how you live selects for differences!
UNDISCOVERED DIVERSITY IN MUSEUMS
I am documenting new diet and other natural history data using MicroCT.
Here you can see a frog in a frog!
